FAQ

How do I easily collect the items with which a user is bound?

User access management supports multi-factor binding authentication. Since the items with which a user is bound are configured on different pages, manually inputting all these items when opening an account is time-consuming and often causes mistakes. INC provides the self-learning function to reduce your workload in this regard. With this function, once you have selected the items (such as IP address) in service configuration, a user is bound to the values used for first successful authentication. Then the user must always use these values for future authentication.

How do I disable IAS, the RADIUS server available with Windows?

When IAS is enabled, the RADIUS request from a device might not be replied.
To disable IAS:

  1. Select Start > Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and double-click Services.
  2. Right-click Internet Authentication Server and select Properties.
  3. In the popup dialog box, set start mode to Manual and disable the server.

In the Firefox browser, why do some fields display incorrect values on a page containing a password input box?

This problem is caused by the function of remembering passwords for sites. Follow these steps to solve this problem:

  2. Click the Security tab.
  3. Deselect the Remember passwords for sites check box under Passwords.

Why does a page in Firefox remain in the waiting status if I click any button on the page when some of the required time parameters are null?

On the INC configuration pages, some time parameters are required. Before clicking a button on a page that has required time parameters, make sure these time parameters are specified.

Why does UAM record a successful login when a device management user fails authentication?

The device management user is authenticated in the following workflow:

  1. The device management user initiates an authentication. According to RADIUS, the authentication packets exchanged do not carry the login type (Telnet, SSH, or FTP) information.
  2. UAM checks only the username and password of the device management user. If the username and password are correct, UAM determines that the user passes the authentication, and issues the login type of the user to the access device.
  3. The access device checks whether the login type of the device management user is the same as the login type issued by the UAM. If yes, the user logs in successfully. Otherwise, the user is denied.

When the device management user has an incorrect login type, the user fails to log in, but UAM might record a login success for the user.
If this problem occurs, check whether the login type that the device management user uses for authentication is the same as the login type that the UAM sets for the user.

Why can't I open all of the pages in My Favorites?

This problem occurs when the following conditions are met:

  1. The pages in My Favorites are query result pages.
  2. After the operator adds a page to My Favorites, the privilege of the operator is changed. The operator loses the privilege to view the pages in My Favorites.

When this problem occurs, delete the pages from My Favorites, perform a query again on the target page, and then add the new page to My Favorites.

What words are system reserved and cannot be used in UAM configuration?

Do not use the following system-reserved words: Unapplied, Do not use, free of charge, Unlimited, Ungrouped, Access Forbidden, and NULL(null).

Why can't I send messages or perform security check for an online user on the Online User List or Access Topology?

When an operator attempts to send a message or perform security check for an online user, the UAM server actively sends a request message to the iNode client. The message might be blocked by the firewall of the endpoint where the iNode client is located. To resolve this issue, check the firewall settings or close the firewall.
