Add/Modify Client Version Upgrade, Configuration Update,Client Patch Upgrade
Use this function to add or modify an automatic upgrade task for the iNode client.
Automatic client upgrade is triggered when any of the following conditions occurs:
- The iNode client version being used is earlier than the client version specified in the client version upgrade task.
- The time when the client configuration was last updated is earlier than the time when the client upgrade configuration was generated.
- The iNode client requires patches to be installed to fix known problems.
The task can apply to specific access users or user groups or access services.
Operation Procedure
- Click the User tab and select User Access Policy > Service Parameters > Client Upgrade from the navigation tree.
- To add a task, click Add, select the upgrade type: Version Upgrade,Configuration Upgrade or Client Patch Upgrade,select the target user groups or access users or access services, and click OK.
- To modify a task, click the Modify icon
for the target client version, reselect the target user groups or access users or access services, and click OK.
Parameters
- Upgrade Mode: The upgrade mode can be Forced Upgrade, Optional Upgrade, Immediate Upgrade, Forced Upgrade - Next Startup Installation or Immediate Upgrade - Next Startup Installation. The Forced Upgrade mode automatically upgrades the iNode client at a random time in 2 hours after the user comes online. The Optional Upgrade mode automatically downloads the upgrade package at a random time in 2 hours after the user comes online and asks the user whether or not to upgrade the client. The Immediate Upgrade mode immediately upgrades the iNode client without any notification when the user comes online. The Forced Upgrade - Next Startup Installation mode downloads the client upgrade package at a random time in 2 hours after the user comes online, and then automatically installs the upgrade at the next startup of the client. The Immediate Upgrade - Next Startup Installation mode downloads the client upgrade package immediately after the user comes online, and then automatically installs the upgrade at the next startup of the client.
- Upgrade Object: The parameter includes PC Client and Mobile Client. Mobile Client means the intelligent mobile which loading the iOS or Android OS system.
- Mobile Client OS: The parameter means the OS system which used by the intelligent mobile. This parameter is visible only when the "Upgrade Object" is selected "Mobile Client".
- Default Mobile Client Upgrade Task: The parameter means the task is default. The default task is used to deploy the online user with VPN method.
- PC Client OS: Operating system used by the PC client. For successful upgrade, make sure the selected PC client OS is consistent with the OS supported by the client upgrade package.
- Download Rate Limit:This parameter sets the upper rate limit for a user to download the iNode client upgrade package. The value ranges from 10 to 1024, in kBps. If you do not specify the download rate limit, the system will not limit the download rate.
- User selection mode: If you select By User, click Select and select the users in the Select Access Users window that appears. If you select By User Group, select the user groups from the user group list. If you select By Services, select the access services from the access service list. When the user and its user group and its access service are bound to the same type of upgrade tasks, the user's task takes precedence over the user group's task.
- Third-Party Server URL: To use a third-party server for client update, make sure the executable client update file is the decompressed and stored to the URL of the server. The URL must be a complete download path such as http://Server IP/.../filename.exe. It is supported by the iNode client running on Windows.

Precautions
An iOS client supports the forced upgrade and optional upgrade modes. In forced upgrade mode, the system forcibly directs users to the upgrade page, even if they do not click Upgrade on the popup page shown upon coming online. In optional upgrade mode, users can click Upgrade on the popup page to perform an upgrade or click Cancel to ignore the message.
