INC enables an iNode client to detect whether the local host is operating as a proxy server by counting the number of incoming packets forwarded by the host. When forwarded incoming traffic reaches the specified forwarded packet threshold, the local host is considered a proxy server. The forwarded packet threshold is expressed as a percentage of incoming packets.
The proxy server detection settings include a forwarded packet threshold, external network segments excluded from detection, and internal network segments under detection.
(1) By default, iNode counts packets that are sourced from any external network segment and destined for the local network segment. For example, if the IP address of the local host is 192.168.1.1/24, iNode counts all packets forwarded to the local network segment 192.168.1.0/24.
(2) If external network segments excluded from detection are configured, packets sourced from these network segments are not counted.
(3) If internal network segments under detection are configured, packets forwarded by the local host to these network segments and the local network segment are counted.
