Add/Modify Password Strategy
This function allows you to add or modify a password strategy.
Operation Procedure
- Select the User tab, and then select User Access Policy > Service Parameters >System Settings from the navigation tree to enter the system configuration page. Then, click the password strategy link to enter the password strategy list page.
- Click Add or click the
link of the password strategy you want to modify.
- Set the strategy name, configure the password security settings, and select the user groups and device user groups.
- Click OK to finish the operation.
Parameters
- Limit Password Length (Characters): Select this option to specify the minimum and maximum password lengths.
- Contains Letters in Lowercase: Lowercase letters must be contained in the user password.
- Contains Letters in Uppercase: Uppercase letters must be contained in the user password.
- Contain Digits: Digits must be contained in the user password.
- Contain Other Characters: Other characters except the letters and digits must be included.
- Account name and password cannot be the same: The account name and password of a user account cannot be the same.
- Expire (Days): Specifies a time range after which the password becomes invalid. The user will be asked to change the password the first time being authenticated after the expiry time. If no modification is made, the client will be logged off.
- Send Password Expiration Notification: Specifies whether to send a notification to a user before the user's password expires.
- Days Before Password Expiration: Specifies the number of days before a user's password expires during which the user is notified of the pending password expiration every day.
- Password Expiration Notification Method: Select the method in which a password expiration notification is sent.
- Password History Count Limit: The value specifies the number of recent passwords cannot be repeated. This parameter does not apply to the initial password.
- User Group: Select the user groups to which the password strategy will be applied.
- Device User Group: Select the device user groups to which the password strategy will be applied.
Precautions
- You cannot select a user group or device user group that is already selected by another password strategy.
- The default password strategy cannot be deleted. The user groups and device user groups that are not selected by specific password strategies will use the default password strategy.
- User groups and device user groups selected by password strategies cannot be deleted.
