Wireless Positioning Parameter Configuration
This function cooperates with the Wireless Service Manager (WSM) to position the wireless clients.
When a wireless client uses the wireless network interface card (NIC) to pass the authentication, the iNode client collects information of the wireless client (such as the signal strength of the wireless NIC) and reports the information to the WSM server, which positions the wireless client according to the collected information.
Parameters Description
- Enable Wireless Client Location: Controls whether the policy server issues the wireless positioning parameters to iNode clients.
- WSM server IP: IP address of the server where the WSM is deployed.
- WSM server listening port: Port monitored by the WSM server, which defaults to port 6666. If the listening port is modified at the WSM server side, you should modify the listening port here.
- Wireless positioning report interval: Interval (in seconds) at which the iNode client reports wireless positioning information to the WSM server.
- iNode consecutive scans: Number of consecutive attempts made by the iNode client to scan the wireless NICs for wireless positioning information. The iNode client calculates the scanned information, and reports the calculation result to the WSM server.
Notes
- Before configuring wireless positioning parameters, check that the Enable Policy Server option is selected on the Configure Policy Server Parameters page. Otherwise, the wireless positioning parameter configuration will not take effect.
- The value of iNode consecutive scans cannot be greater than that of the Wireless positioning report interval.
