Device User AuthN Log

Device management user authentication logs are generated when device administrators are authenticated and log in to the devices. From the logs, you can obtain authentication information, such as the account name, service type, offline cause, authentication failure cause, device ip, and authentication time.

You can query logs by account name, service type, authentication time, or any combination. Specify the query criteria and click Query to list matched device management user authentication logs. Click Reset to clear the query criteria and display all logs.

The service type dropdown list includes the following options: Telnet, SSH, FTP, and Terminal. In the authentication log list, the authentication status can be successful or failed. You can view the failure reason of a failed authentication process on the log details page.

To avoid affecting database performance, the UAM deletes device management user authentication logs when their lifetime expires. The log lifetime is configured in the system parameters.

A device management user passes authentication after it provides the correct username and password. UAM generates an authentication success log for the user without verifying the service type of the user. The service type in the log is the same as the configuration in UAM. However, it might be different from the actual service type of the user.

If you enable recording of accounting update logs, the server generates an accounting update log when the device sends an accounting update packet for an online device user. If you disable recording of accounting update logs, the server does not generate accounting update logs.
