Billing Attributes

This function allows you to configure parameters related with charging and billing.

Operation Procedure

1. Select the User tab and then select Accounting Manager > Charging Parameters from the navigation tree to enter the charging parameters configuration page.
   
2. Click the icon corresponding to Billing Attributes to enter the billing attributes and self-service parameters configuration page.
3. Configure the billing attributes and self-service parameters.
4. Click OK.

Parameters

1. Billing Attributes

• Settlement Day of Month: The day of a month when the billing operations are performed. The billing operations are as follows:

  Service type	Prepaid user	Postpaid user
  Using billing policies with billing terms	No processing	1. Change the status of bills that have passed the last billing term and are in the Billed status to Outstanding. 2. Settle all the bills in the Outstanding status. If the payment is enough for a bill, set the status of the bill to Paid; if the payment is not enough for a bill, keep the bill in the Outstanding status.
  Using billing policies without billing terms (including no billing)	Configure the current date as the end time of the billing term, and set the status of the bills to Paid.	Configure the current date as the end of the billing term. If the payment is enough for a bill, set the status of the bill to Paid; if the payment is not enough for a bill, set the status of the bill to Outstanding.

• Save Payment Records for: This option specifies how long the CAMS will keep the user payment records and one-time charge payment records. Expired records will be automatically removed to avoid impact on system performance.
• Overdue Account blocking Threshold: Number of billing terms after which an account staying outstanding will be added to the denylist.
• Low Balance Alert: If the balance of a prepaid account is less than the amount specified by this parameter, the user will receive an low balance alert when logging in to the self-service platform.
• Recharge Attempt Threshold: If a user tries to recharge an account but fails to provide the correct password in a certain number of consecutive attempts within a day, the account will be added to the denylist and is not allowed be charged any more on the day. The account will be removed automatically from the denylist on the next day. The parameter defines the maximum number of consecutive attempts.
• Resume Automatically: Specifies whether a frozen account can be used to access network resources before the expected unfreeze time. With this parameter set to enabled, when a user uses a frozen account to log in and passes authentication, the system unfreezes the account and changes the unfreeze time to the current date.
• Max. Session Flux: Traffic quota allocated to a user at a time after the user passes authentication and gets online. This parameter is carried in authentication or accounting update packets.
• Max. Users for Service Pre-Application: Specifies the maximum number of access users that have the same end time of the service billing term for service pre-application. The value is an integer in the range of 1 to 1000, and is 1000 by default. When you pre-apply for a service for an access user, INC checks the end time of the service billing term of the involved service, obtains the number of access users that already pre-applied for a service with the target service suffix, and compares the number with this parameter. If the parameter is exceeded, INC filters the corresponding services out of service pre-application. For example, suppose that the parameter is set to 500. 200 users have pre-applied for a service with the same suffix as an applied service (Service A ), whose end time of the service billing term is 2010-06-16, and 500 users have pre-applied for a service with the same suffix as an applied service (Service B) whose end time of the service billing term is 2010-06-18. For an access user that has applied for service A and service B, you can pre-apply for a service with the same suffix as service A, but not a service with the same suffix as service B.
• Cancelling a Defaulting Access User: If this feature is enabled, you can cancel a defaulting access user; if this feature is disabled, you cannot cancel a defaulting access user.
• Low Balance Notification Email: With this parameter enabled, CAMS checks the prepaid amount of each user account on the bill date, and periodically notifies the user account of the amount owed, IP/MAC address binding, and applied service in an email if the prepaid amount drops below the predefined threshold or is negative (depending on the account type: prepaid or postpaid). Make sure the user email address is correctly configured.

2. Self-Service Settings

• Min. Suspension Period: With this parameter set, before the specified period of time elapses, a frozen account cannot be unfrozen through the self-service platform and no user can use the account to log in and pass authentication so as to unfreeze the account. However, an operator can unfreeze the account through the console at any time. For example, if you set this parameter to 30 days, an account frozen on Sept. 1st, 2010 cannot be unfrozen through the self-service platform or by logging in using the account before Oct. 1st, 2010. A value of 0 means no limit on the freeze period.
