ADD/Modify Traffic Control
This function add/modify the specified traffic monitor policies.
Operation Procedure
- Select the User tab, and from the navigation tree select Traffic Control.
- Click Add, or click
of a policy in list.
- Input the settings.
- Click OK.
Parameters
- Sampling Interval: The iNode client makes statistics about the IP traffic and the Layer 2 broadcast packets over the time period.
- IP Traffic Minor Threshold: Sets the monitor threshold of IP traffic. If the threshold is exceeded, an alarm of the monitor level will be generated.
- IP Traffic Severe Threshold: Sets the severe threshold of IP traffic. If the threshold is exceeded, an alarm of the severe level will be generated. The severe threshold must be greater than the minor threshold.
- Broadcast Packets Minor Threshold: Sets the monitor threshold of broadcast packet amount. If the threshold is exceeded, an alarm of the monitor level will be generated.
- Broadcast Packets Severe Threshold: Sets the severe threshold of broadcast packet amount. If the threshold is exceeded, an alarm of the severe level will be generated. The severe threshold must be greater than the minor threshold.
- Packets Minor Threshold: Sets the monitor threshold of packet amount. If the threshold is exceeded, an alarm of the monitor level will be generated.
- Packets Severe Threshold: Sets the severe threshold of packet amount. If the threshold is exceeded, an alarm of the severe level will be generated. The severe threshold must be greater than the minor threshold.
- TCP/UDP Connections Minor Threshold: Sets the monitor threshold of TCP/UDP connection amount. If the threshold is exceeded, an alarm of the monitor level will be generated.
- TCP/UDP Connections Severe Threshold: Sets the severe threshold of TCP/UDP connection amount. If the threshold is exceeded, an alarm of the severe level will be generated. The severe threshold must be greater than the minor threshold.
- Service Group: Used to configure the service group to which the current traffic control belongs. Administrators/maintenancers can add the traffic control to their associated service groups.
Precautions
- Upon modification, the traffic control name cannot be changed.
- Traffic control contains four items: IP traffic monitoring, broadcast packets monitoring, monitoring of number of the packets passing the NIC used for authentication, and monitoring of the number of TCP/UDP connections. To add/modify a traffic control, at least one monitor item must be enabled.
- The IP Traffic Severe Threshold must be greater than the IP Traffic Minor Threshold.
- The Broadcast Packets Severe Threshold must be greater than the Broadcast Packets Minor Threshold.
- The Packets Severe Threshold must be greater than the Packets Minor Threshold.
- The TCP/UDP Connections Severe Threshold must be greater than the TCP/UDP Connections Minor Threshold.
- When modifying a traffic control, you are not allowed to modify the service group to which the traffic control belongs.
- Statistics about the IP traffic include the incoming and outgoing IP flows.
- Statistics about the broadcast packets only contain the outgoing Layer 2 broadcast packets amount.
- Statistics about the packets include all the packets that pass the NIC used for authentication.
- Statistics of the TCP/UDP connections include all these that have been set up on the PC where the iNode client resides.
