Access Device And Core Device
An access device refers to the network device connecting The System server to the managed network. The core devices refer to the primary network devices that connect network segments, which play an important role in the whole network. You can configure one access device for The System server and multiple core devices according to the network planning.
This function enables you to perform the following operations:
- Configuring access and core devices.
- Using the Alarm Reason Analysis function to analyze each alarm, locate the root alarm, and identify the root cause of the alarm.
Operation Procedure
- Click the Alarm tab, and then select Access and Core Device in the navigation tree to enter the configuration page.
- You can perform the following operations on the Access and Core Device configuration page:
- To add an access device, click Add in the Access Device field.
- To automatically calculate The System access device, click Resume System Calculation in the Access Device field.

To delete the existing access device, click the Delete icon
in the Access Device field.
- To add a core device, click Add in the Core Device field.
- To delete one or multiple selected core devices, click Delete in the Core Device field.
- To delete the existing core devices, click the Delete icon
in the Core Device field.
Remarks
- Because root alarm analysis supports only access and core device types of switches, routers, and security devices, the Devices Found list for any other device type is empty when you add access and core devices.
