Add Monitor

Adding performance indexes for devices in batches is also referred to as adding monitoring instances. The system collects performance data of monitoring instances according to the performance indexes.

Operation Procedure

1. Click the Resource tab, and then select Performance Management > Monitoring Settings from the navigation tree to display the monitored device list page.
2. To add performance indexes for one or more devices:
   1. Click the Operation icon for a device and select Add from the menu, or select one or more devices and click Add Monitor.
   2. Click Add in the Select Index area to add performances indexes. Click the Configure icon for each monitored index to set alarm thresholds and the collection interval.
   3. Click Add in the Select Device area to add devices to be monitored.
   4. In the monitor settings area, set the type of interfaces to be monitored. If the monitored object is an interface, the setting determines whether the interface is monitored.
   5. Click OK to display the monitoring result page.
3. To add performance indexes for one or more instances:
   1. Click the Switch to instance list link.
   2. Click the Operation icon for an instance and select Add from the menu, or select one or more instances and click Add Monitor.
   3. Click Add in the Select Index area to add performances indexes. Click the Configure icon for each monitored index to set alarm thresholds and the collection interval.
   4. Click Select Device in the Select Instance area to add performance indexes to be monitored.
   5. In the monitor settings area, set the type of interfaces to be monitored. If the monitored object is an interface, the setting determines whether the interface is monitored.
   6. Click OK to display the monitoring result page.

Precautions

• When the Monitoring Device option is selected and the selected indexes contain interface-related indexes, you must set the monitoring settings for interface-related indexes at the bottom of the page, so that you can correctly monitor these indexes.
• When the Monitoring Instance option is selected, or when the Monitoring Device option is selected but the selected indexes do not contain interface-related indexes, the Monitoring Settings area does not appear.
• Currently, the interface-related indexes include the indexes in the Interface Statistics group and the indexes in the Advanced Interface Statistics group.
