Interface Up/Down Alarm Filter
The interface Up/Down alarm filter drops interface Up/Down alarms received from monitored devices and disables the system to create Up/Down alarms for selected interfaces. You can set up the filter for flapping interfaces or interfaces whose state changes are not a concern.
Operation Procedure
Approach 1: Setting the Interface Up/Down Alarm Filter for Interfaces in Bulk
- Click the Resource tab, and then in the navigation tree click Resource Management > Batch Operation.
- Click the Interface Up/Down Alarm Filter link.
- Select interfaces and set the filter to permit or deny the Up/Down alarms of the interfaces or handle the alarms as per the system settings.
- Click OK.
Approach 2: Setting the Interface Up/Down Alarm Filter Individually for Interfaces
- Click the Interface List link on the device details page of a device, and click an interface on the displayed interface list.
- Click the Up/Down Alarm Filter option in the Action pane.
- Set the filter to permit or deny the Up/Down alarm of the interface or handle the alarms as per the system settings.
- Click OK.
Precautions
- Apply items for interface include: System Settings, No Filter, and Filter.
- In addition to setting up the interface Up/Down alarm filter specific to interfaces, you can set up the filter globally. For an interface, if the system settings and the interface-specific setting conflicts, the interface-specific setting applies. If no interface-specific setting is available, the system settings are applied.
- When you click Cancel on a configuration page, it may not return to the previous page.
