Modify Modem
Perform this task to modify a modem.
Procedure
- Click the System tab, and then click the SMSC Settings link.
- Click the Modem sending method. Select a modem network type, GSM or CDMA.
- On the modem list, click the Modify icon
for the target modem.
- Modify the modem setting as needed.
- To test the modem setting changes:
a. Click Test to expand the Test Modem Setting area.
b. In the Cell Phone Number field, enter a cell phone number to receive the test SMS message.
c. Click Test and view the test result at the upper right corner of the page.
- Click OK.
Parameters
- Connect Using: The virtual port that connects the modem to the SMSC server.
- Baudrate(bps): The communication rate between the modem and the SMSC server.
- Country Code: The code of a country or a region. You do not need to set this field for CDMA modems.
- SMSC Number: SMSC number for the card issuer of the SIM card in the modem. You do not need to set this field for CDMA modems.
Remarks
- You can modify the modem of Alarm Management on the Alarm Notification page.
- In the Test Modem Setting area, you can configure the periodic test number for the modem under test. This test is executed once a day. If no message is received, the modem is operating improperly.
- On the configuration window for the GSM modem under test, you can configure the periodic test number for the GSM modem under test. This test is executed once a day. If no message is received, the GSM modem is operating improperly.
