Device Management

Device management includes all devices that device users can log into and manage.

Features

• Query Devices
  
  Perform this task to query devices.

  Procedure

  1. Click the User tab, and select Device User Policy > Device Management from the navigation tree to open the Device Management page.
  2. Set the query criteria, including device IP address range, device area, device type, and device name. You can select any level of node for device area and device type. The system can find all devices of the leaf node of the node. By default, all devices are displayed.
  3. Click Query. All the devices matching the query criteria are displayed. To set the query criteria as the default, click Reset.
• Add Device

Perform this task to add a device by selecting it from the platform or and manually adding it.
Procedure
1. Click the User tab, and select Device User Policy > Device Management from the navigation tree to open the Device Management page.
2. Click Add to open the page for adding a device.
3. Type a shared key for communications between the system and the access device.
4. Type an authentication port that is used by TAM to monitor authentication packets. Make sure that the authentication port is the same as that configured on the device.
5. Select a device area. One device can belong to multiple areas.
6. Select a device type. One device can belong to only one type.
7. Select whether single connection is supported. Supported means multiple sessions can be established in one TCP connection when the device communicates with TAM. Not Supported means multiple sessions are not supported in one TCP connection. This parameter must be the same as that configured on the device.
8. Select whether Watchdog is supported. Supported means TAM maintains the online status and duration by receiving Watchdog packets sent by the device when a user is online. Not Supported means the device does not send Watchdog packets when a user is online. The parameter must be the same as that configured on the device.
9. Type the description for the device.
10. Use one of the following methods to add devices to TAM:
• To add devices by selecting them from the INC platform, click Select and select the desired devices in the Select Devices dialog box. To use this method, make sure the devices have been added to the INC platform.
• To manually add a device, click Add Manually and select Add from the menu. The Manually Add Device dialog box appears. Perform one of the following tasks:
• Select FQDN for Device Name Type and enter the device name. Enter the device IP address or click Get IP Address to automatically get the IP address corresponding to the device name from the DNS server, and then click OK.
• Select Sysname for Device Name Type. Enter the device name and device IP address, and then click OK.
• To manually add devices in batches to TAM, click Add Manually and select Batch Add from the menu. In the Manually Add Device dialog box, enter the start and end IP addresses and click OK.
11. Click OK.
• Import Devices in Batches
  
  Perform this task to import devices from a file in batches.

  Procedure

  1. Click the User tab, and select Device User Policy > Device Management from the navigation tree to open the Device Management page.
  2. Click Batch Import.
  3. Click Browse to select a file, and select a column separator, and click Next.
  4. You can select a column in the file for a device information parameter, or select Not Imported and type a value for the parameter. The Device IP must be imported from a file. For more information about the parameters, see Add Device. To view the previous records, click Preview.
  5. Click OK.
• Modify Device
  
  Perform this task to modify basic information about a single device.

  Procedure

  1. Click the User tab, and select Device User Policy > Device Management from the navigation tree to open the Device Management page.
  2. Click the icon of the target device to open the page for modifying the device.
  3. Modify parameters as needed. For more information about the parameters, see Add Device.
  4. Click OK.
• Modify Devices in Batches
  
  Perform this task to modify basic information about devices in batches.

  Procedure

  1. Click the User tab, and select Device User Policy > Device Management from the navigation tree to open the Device Management page.
  2. Select one or multiple devices, and click Batch Modify.
  3. Modify the following parameters: Shared Key, Authentication Port,Device Areas,Single Connection, Watchdog, and Description. For more information about the parameters, see Add Device.
  4. Click OK.
• Move Devices in Batches
  
  Perform this task to change the area or type of devices.

  Procedure

  1. Click the User tab, and select Device User Policy > Device Management from the navigation tree to open the Device Management page.
  2. Select one or multiple devices, and click Move Device.
  3. Select whether to change the area or device type, and select a new device area or type.
  4. Click OK.
• Delete Devices in Batches
  
  Perform this task to delete devices in batches.

  Procedure

  1. Click the User tab, and select Device User Policy > Device Management from the navigation tree to open the Device Management page.
  2. Select one or multiple devices, and then click Batch Delete.
     A confirmation dialog box appears.
  3. Click OK.
• Sync Devices with Platform
  
  Perform this task to sync the device labels from the INC platform to TAM as device names.

  Procedure

  1. Click the User tab. From the navigation tree, select Device User Policy > Device Management.
  2. Select the devices whose device names you want to sync from the INC platform, and then click Sync with Platform.
     A confirmation dialog box appears.
  3. Click OK.
• Batch Export
  
  Use this function to export the device information to a file and save the file in the INC server or on your local computer.

  Procedure

  1. Click the User tab. From the navigation tree, select Device User Policy > Device Management.
  2. Type the query conditions and click Query. The matched device will be displayed in the device management list. and click Batch Export.
  3. Configure related parameters and click OK.
  4. The system execute the export operation as configured, saves the exported file on the INC server, and then display the operation result page.
  5. Click Download to download and save the export file.

Remarks

• The TAM license controls the number of devices that can be authenticated. If the number of authenticated devices exceeds the number defined by the license, new device can not be authenticated.
• Export device information by query conditions only.
• Intelbras devices do not support the watchdog feature.
