An LDAP server stores user information in a tree structure. A user in an LDAP server is called an LDAP user.
The TAM component can associate device users in INC with LDAP users. When a device user initiates an authentication request, INC first verifies that the device user exists in the database. Then INC authenticates the device user locally or forwards the request to an LDAP server, depending on the configuration. The LDAP service does not require user information database to be rebuilt when you deploy TAM to an LDAP network.
