VLAN Topology
Functions
- View topology
Approach 1:
- Click the Resource tab, and then click Network Topology in the navigation tree.
- Click the VLAN View icon on the top toolbar to display the VLAN list in the current IP topology view.
- Select a VLAN in the VLAN list to display all nodes and links that allow this VLAN. All nodes and links that carry the VLAN are highlighted in the current IP view, while all other nodes and links are grayed out.
Approach 2:
- Click the Service tab, and then click VLAN Management >Quick Start in the navigation tree.
- Click the VLAN Topology link.
- Click VLAN View on the top toolbar to display the VLAN list in the current topology view.
- Select a VLAN in the VLAN list to display all nodes and links that allow this VLAN. All nodes and links that carry the VLAN are highlighted in the current IP view, while all other nodes and links are grayed out.
- Assign a device or link to a VLAN
- Click the VLAN View icon on the top toolbar.
- Select a VLAN.
- Right-click a VLAN device node, or right-click a link with VLAN devices at both ends and with connecting ports that support VLAN configuration. The shortcut menu appears.
- Select Add to Current VLAN from the shortcut menu.
- Remove a device or link from a VLAN
- Click the VLAN View icon on the top toolbar.
- Select a VLAN.
- Right-click a VLAN device node, or right-click a link with VLAN devices at both ends and with connecting ports that support VLAN configuration. The shortcut menu appears.
- Select Remove from Current VLAN from the shortcut menu.
- Deploy VLAN to Devices
- Click the VLAN View icon on the top toolbar.
- Select a VLAN.
- Right-click two VLAN device node The shortcut menu appears.
- Select Deploy VLAN to Devices from the shortcut menu.
- Deploy VLAN to Links
- Click the VLAN View icon on the top toolbar.
- Select a VLAN.
- Right-click two VLAN device node The shortcut menu appears.
- Select Deploy VLAN to Links from the shortcut menu.
- Remove VLAN from Links
- Click the VLAN View icon on the top toolbar.
- Select a VLAN.
- Right-click two VLAN device node The shortcut menu appears.
- Select Remove VLAN from Links from the shortcut menu.
- Query VLANs allowed on a device or link
- Click the Resource tab, and then click Network Topology in the navigation tree
- Double-click IP Topology in the navigation tree.
- Click a device node or a link of which at least one end econnects to a VLAN device. The tip displays all the VLANs allowed on the selected node or on the right or left port of the selected link.
Precautions
- VLAN operations are available only on devices and links connecting to a VLAN device at least at one end.
- The VLAN list displayed in the VLAN view is for the current topology only. In case you open multiple topologies, to view the VLAN list for another topology, you must click the topology tab and click the VLAN View icon at the top toolbar to refresh the list.
- When you select Deploy VLAN to Devices, all VLAN-aware devices on the path formed by the two selected devices are assigned to the current VLAN, and non-VLAN-aware devices cannot be selected.To see The result in [VLAN Deployment Task]
