Device Panel Information

The device panel shows the emulated view of the device panel on a graphic user interface.

On the device panel, you can see the vendor and model of the device, and the type and state of each physical entity (including boards, subcards, and ports) of the device.

The system refreshes the device panel every five minutes, so that the device panel can reflect the current state of the device in time. Additionally, the device panel can reflect the device state changes after alarms occur on the device.

Operation Procedure

1. Click the Resource tab. From the navigation tree, select View Management > Device View.
2. In the device list, click a device label.
3. Select Open Device Panel from the Action menu.

Fit in Window

Right-click the device panel, and select Fit in Window from the shortcut menu to adjust the device panel size suitable for the window.

Origin

Right-click the device panel, and select Origin from the shortcut menu to see the device panel of the original size.

Zoom in the device panel

Right-click the device panel, and select Zoom In from the shortcut menu to zoom in the device panel.

Zoom out the device panel

Right-click the device panel, and select Zoom Out from the shortcut menu to zoom out the device panel.

Refresh the device panel

Right-click the device panel, and select Refresh from the shortcut menu to refresh the device panel.

3D panel

Right-click the device panel, and select 3D Panel from the shortcut menu to display the device panel in 3D mode.

Precautions

• In topology view, you can open up to one device panel.
• The system can show the chassis panels of unsupported devices in common panels, but the displayed information might be inaccurate. You can use visual panel designer(VPD) to custom the device panel. You can get 'Visual Panel designer User manual' to learn more about VPD.
• Before opening the device panel of a managed device, synchronize the system with the device information if you have re-assigned the device to a new device category, added or removed modules, changed its stack structure, or done anything that may change the physical characteristics of the device.
• The device panel displays only the power, fan, and card LEDs on the main processing units (MPUs) of high-end and middle-range switches.
• The switching engine and the access controller engine can be configured with different IP addresses. The system takes a unified Wired-WLAN switch as two devices and manages them separately. However, the switching engine and the access controller engine are displayed on the same device panel. To make the device panel correctly display the interface information, you must configure the same SNMP parameters for the two devices.
• For HPE devices, only device panels that are designed by using VPD can be displayed in 3D mode.
