Add/Modify Policy
Perform this task to add or modify a service policy for an AC or fat AP.
Procedure
- Click the Service tab.
- From the navigation tree, select WLAN Manager > Resource Management > ACs or WLAN Manager > Resource Management > Fat APs.
- Click a device label to open the Device Details page.
- Click Service Policy Management to open the Service Policy List
page.
- Click Add Policy to open the Add Service Policy page, or click the Operation icon
for the target service policy, and then select Modify from the shortcut menu to open the Modify Service Policy page.
- Configure basic information for the service
policy.
- Click OK.
Parameters
- Policy ID: Identifies the service policy,the value range varies by device model.
- Enable: Indicates whether to enable the service policy.
- SSID Name: Uniquely identifies an SSID, a string of 1 to 32 characters.
- Encryption Mode: Indicates the encryption mode. Options are Clear and Crypto.
- Hidden SSID: Indicates whether to hide SSID in Beacon frames, and is cleared by default.
- Authentication Mode: Indicates the 802.11 and 802.11i authentication mode. If Encryption Mode is set to Clear, this field must be Open System. If Encryption Mode is set to Crypto, this field can be Open System (default), Shared Key, All, or None. If you are adding a service policy manually, this field defaults to None.
- Binding Interface: If you select this option, you must set the Interface ID. When you add a service policy, you must select Binding Interface.
- Interface ID: Specifies the interface ID with which the service policy is to be bound. The interface ID must be unique on a device. It is only displayed when configuring an AC.
- Interface Type: Specifies the interface type with which the service policy is to be bound. By default, it is WLAN-ESS. It is only displayed when configuring an AC.
- Max Clients: Specifies the maximum number of clients allowed in the service policy.
- Layer 2 Isolation: Select whether to enable Layer 2 isolation. This feature isolates clients accessing the same SSID.
- VLAN: ID of the VLAN that clients will join after coming online through the service policy template, in the range of 1 to 4094.
- Security IE: Specifies the security information element to be used in Beacon and Probe response frames. Options are None (default), RSN, WPA, and All. This field is available only when Encryption Mode is set to Cyphertext.
- Cipher Suite: Specifies the cipher suite to be used for data frame encryption. Options are WEP40,WEP104,WEP128, TKIP, CCMP, where WEP40 and WEP104 and WEP128should not be selected at the same time. Key Index and Key are available only when Cipher Suite is set to WEP40 or WEP104 or WEP128.
- Key Index: Index of the packet cipher key, in the range of 1 to 4. The default key index is 1.
- Key: A key string can only contain numbers and letters. The key length depends on the cipher suite. For a WEP40 key, the key length is 5 alphanumeric characters. For a WEP104 key, the key length is 13 alphanumeric characters. For a WEP128 key, the key length is 16 alphanumeric characters.
- Password control policy: Configure password complexity requirements. This field is available only when the security IE is RSN, WPA, or All.
Remarks
- The policy ID must be unique. The interface ID must be unique on a device.
- When modifying a service policy, you cannot change the policy ID.
