Configure Location Parameters

Perform this task to configure wireless location parameters.

Procedure

1. Click the Service tab.
2. From the navigation tree, select WLAN Manager > Locating Management to open the Locating Management page.
3. In the Location Aware locating area, click Location Parameter Configuration.
4. Configure the parameters as required.
5. Click OK.

Parameters

• Location Request Sending Interval (1-20 s): Interval at which WSM sends location requests to locating APs, in the range of 1 to 20 seconds.
• Location Packet Quantity in One Locating Request: Number of client location operations that must be performed by an AP after the AP receives a location request, in the range of 5 to 50.
• Client Location Interval: Interval at which WSM performs a location calculation, in the range of 1 to 10 seconds.
• Client Location Idle Interval: Client idle interval, in the range of 20 to 60 seconds. If WSM does not receive any information about a client within an idle interval, it determines that the client is offline.
• Location AP Mounting Height: Distance between the AP installation location and clients, in the range of 0 to 10 m (0 to 32.81 ft).
