Use the BIOS serial number pool to provision BIOS serial numbers that are permitted to access the network. When Control BIOS Serial Number is enabled in Access Policy, the user can access the network from an endpoint whose BIOS serial number is in the pool. If the BIOS serial number does not match an entry in the pool, network access is denied.If the list is empty, network access is not restricted by BIOS serial numbers. UAM collects the BIOS serial number information by using the iNode client. When Access for Endpoints with BIOS Serial Numbers Unobtained is set to Permitted, the endpoint is allowed to access the network if UAM cannot obtain its BIOS serial number. When Access for Endpoints with BIOS Serial Numbers Unobtained is set to Denied, the endpoint is prohibited from accessing the network if UAM cannot obtain its BIOS serial number. The BIOS serial number pool takes effect only when the iNode PC client is used for network access.
