Service Group
Hierarchical management is an effective way to ensure secure and reliable system running. The main idea behind hierarchical management is to let specific services be managed by specific operators. In the INC system, hierarchical management is implemented by classifying service data (such as access services and security policies) into different groups. Only the operators who have been associated with a group can manage the service data of the group.
The INC service group function has the following prescriptions:
- After the UAM component is installed, the system automatically creates a group called Ungrouped, which cannot be modified or deleted.
- Administrators (ADMINs) can add, modify, and delete service groups, while maintainers and viewers have no such rights.
- An administrator can be associated with all service groups, indicating that an administrator can configure services in all groups. A maintainer or a viewer can be associated with only one service group, which can be the predefined group Ungrouped or a user-defined group. A new maintainer/viewer of the system is associated with Ungrouped by default.
- An administrator can add, modify, delete, and query data in all groups.
- A maintainer can add, modify, delete, and query data in the associated service group, and can query and reference ungrouped service data. If a maintainer is not associated with any service group, the maintainer can add, modify, delete, and query ungrouped service data.
- A viewer can view ungrouped service data and data in the associated service group.
The INC system allows you to enable and disable the service group function. For more information, see Configure System Parameters.
