Guest Manager

INC guest managers manage guests and activate pre-registered guests. After an INC guest manager creates a guest or activates a pre-registered guest, the guest manager is associated with the guest or pre-registered guest.

INC guest managers include guest managers and super guest managers. A guest manager manages only associated guests and pre-registered guests. A super guest manager manages all guests and pre-registered guests.

Click the account name of a guest manager to enter the details page. The access service operation menu is displayed on the right of the page. The menu differs depending on whether the guest manager is online or not. The menu is similar to that of online users. For details, refer to Online User.

Operation Procedure

Follow these steps to add one or more guest managers:  

1. Click the User tab, and select Guest > Guest Manager from the navigation tree to enter the guest manager list page.
2. Click Add and then select the guest manager type.
3. Click Select. On the pop-up window, select one or more target access users, and click OK.
4. Click OK.

Follow these steps to modify one or more guest managers:  

1. Click the User tab, and select Guest > Guest Manager from the navigation tree to enter the guest manager list page.
2. On the guest manager list, select one or more target guest managers.
3. Click Modify and then select the guest manager type.
4. Click OK.

Parameters

• Maximum validity period of managed guests: An ordinary guest manager can specify a maximum time period in which a new guest will be valid. When this parameter is configured for a guest manager, the manager cannot modify the validity time or expiration time of guests. Default validity time of guest accounts when their expiration time is not configured or cannot be configured. The validity time of these guest accounts is the smaller of Default Validity Time of Guests and Maximum validity period of managed guests parameter. If Maximum validity period of managed guests is configured for a guest manager and its guest manager group, the setting for the guest manager applies.
• Max Manageable Guests: Specify the maximum number of guests that can be managed by the guest manager. The default setting is Not Limited. If you specify this parameter for both the guest manager and the guest manager group, the configuration for the guest manager takes effect. This parameter also applies to the guests whose accounts have expired and the guests whose accounts have been canceled but not deleted yet.
• Approval Notification Types: When a guest is successfully preregistered, UAM can send an approval reminder by SMS message or email to the guest administrator. This parameter determines the approval reminder sending.
• Managed Guest Group: Guest group that can be managed by the guest manager. When this parameter is configured, the guest manager can add or modify guest information in this group, or approve preregistered guests in this group.

Operation Procedure

1. Click the User tab, and select Guest > Guest Manager from the navigation tree to enter the guest manager list page.
2. On the guest manager list, select one or more target guest managers.
3. Click Delete.

Precautions

• If a guest manager is configured as the manager of a guest, the guest manager cannot be deleted.
• If a guest manager is configured as the manager of a pre-registered guest, the guest manager can be deleted.
• If you re-configure an access user (which is a deleted guest manager) as a guest manager, the new guest manager cannot manage the pre-registered guests associated with the former guest manager.
• If function "All access users have guest manage privileges" is enabled, the default guest manager cannot be deleted

Precautions

• Click the link of the Default Guest Managers to configure a manager for guests that are automatically registered on the portal login page. You can configure only one default guest manager.
• A guest manager account can be assigned to a guest manager group of a different guest manager type than the account. The account automatically uses the guest manager type of the group if the account gains more privileges from the group. However, if the group grants fewer privileges than the original privileges of the account, the system does not reduce the account privileges. For example, an account is still associated with the super guest manager privileges after it is assigned to a group of Guest Manager type.
