Backup Policy
The options set devices whether or not to generate alarms when the configurations to be
backed up are different from the baseline configurations or last backups, set the maximum number
of backup configuration files allowed and the maximum days for which the backup configuration
history can be saved.
Operation Procedures
Set Paths for Backup Config Files
- Enter the storage path for backup configuration files as need.
- Click OK.
To configure devices to generate alarms when the configurations to be backed up are
different from the baseline configurations:
- Select the Alarm Generation Mode option in the Set Type area.
- In the Generate alarms if the configuration to be backed up is different from
the baseline section, click All devices except the selected ones will
generate alarms or Only the selected devices will generate alarms.
- Click Select Device to select devices that will or will not generate alarms.
- Click OK.

different from the last backups:
- Select the Alarm Generation Mode option in the Set Type area.
- In the Generate alarms if the configuration to be backed up is different from
the last backup section, click All devices except the selected ones will
generate alarms or Only the selected devices will generate alarms.
- Click Select Device to select devices that will or will not generate alarms.
- Click OK.
To set the maximum number of backup configuration files:
- Select the Max. Backup Configuration Files option in the Set Type area.
- Input the maximum number of backup configuration files.
- Click OK.
Follow these procedures to set the maximum number of days for which the backup
configuration history can be saved:
- Select the Max. Backup Configuration History Days option in the Set Type
area.
- Input the maximum number of days for which the backup configuration history can be
saved.
- Click OK.
File Naming Method for Exported Backup Configuration:
- Select the File Naming Method for Exported Backup Configuration option in the Set
Type area.
- Set the file naming method for exported backup configuration.
- Click OK.
Precautions
- The global alarming setting is the default setting for all devices except those in the
device list.
- To disable global alarming, deselect the check box.
- The Max. Backup Configuration History Days field specifies the maximum number of days
that the system retains the backup history records before deleting them. Deleting the backup history
records does not delete the backup files.
- The naming method for exported backup configuration files specifies how the backup
configuration files exported on the Detailed Information page of Backup History
Report are named.
