Add/Modify Mail Notification Configuration
This function enables you to notify the maintenance engineer of any alarms through emails.
Operation Procedure
- Click the Alarm tab, and then select Alarm Notification in the navigation tree. The Alarm Notification page appears.
- Click Add, or a modify link in the Mail Notification list to enter the Add Mail Notification Configuration or Modify Mail Notification Configuration page.
- In the Add Mail Notification Configuration or Modify Mail Notification Configuration page, do the following configurations:
- Type the rule name (available only when adding an alarm notification rule).
- Select whether to forward alarms that match or do not match the alarm filters in the rule.
- Select Enable or Disable from the Staged Alarm Notification list.
- Type the notification stage name (available only when Enable is selected from the Staged Alarm Notification list).
- Type the destination mail address.
- Type the duration of alarms before the system begins to send notifications (available only when Enable is selected from the Staged Alarm Notification list).
- Select your concerned alarm levels.
- Select your concerned resources.
- Select your concerned alarms.
- In the Time Ranges area, set the start and end time on each day in the format HH:MM. For example, 12:23-23:23.
- Click OK.
Parameters
- Staged Alarm Notification: If you select Enable from the Staged Alarm Notification list, configure Notification Stage Time, Recipient Addresses fields, and Duration of Alarms before Sending Notification. The unrecovered alarm will be forwarded again.If you select No from the Staged Alarm Notification list, configure the Recipient Addresses field. After stage forwarding is enabled, an alarm will not be immediately forwarded upon generation. A forwarding takes place only if the alarm persists after the delay timer for forwarding expires.
- Destination Mail Address: You can add mail addresses or select from mail addresses of platform users.
- Concerned Resources:If you select All Resources, alarms of all the resources are forwarded. If you select Selected Devices, only alarms of the selected devices are forwarded.If you select Application Group, only the alarms of the selected application groups are forwarded. You can select devices in the following four ways:
- Selected Devices: Select one or more devices that are added to The System platform.
- Selected Custom View: Select a customized view to select all devices in this view.
- Selected Network Segment: Enter start and end IP addresses to select the devices whose IP addresses are in the address range.
- Concerned Port Groups: If you select All Ports, alarms of all the ports are forwarded. If you select Selected Port Group, only the alarms of the selected port groups are forwarded.
- Concerned Alarms: If you select All Alarms, all alarms are forwarded. If you select Selected Alarms, only the selected alarms are forwarded. You can set parameters for selected alarms and only alarms matching the parameter settings can be forwarded. To view related parameters for one alarm, you can open the Trap Definition Details page.
- Time Ranges: The system forwards alarms generated in the specified time range. For example, if you set 00:00-24:00 for a certain day, all alarms generated on the day are notified.
Precautions
- In a mail notification configuration, the relationship among all conditions is AND.
- In a mail notification configuration, the relationship among all alarm level conditions is OR.
- The destination mail address is in the format of username@server domain name. Currently, the system only identifies whether the input mail address complies with this format. For the username format and server domain name format, follow the rules of the mail server that provides the mail service.
- Application groups are supported only if the APM component is installed.
