Set Message Notification
This function enables you to notify the not-on-site maintenance engineer of any alarms through phone messages.
Functions
Operation Procedure
- Click the Alarm tab, and then select Alarm Notification in the navigation tree. The Alarm Notification page appears.
- The Message Notification list provides the following operations:
- Click Add to enter the Add Message Notification Configuration page.
- Click Configure SMSC to enter the SMSC Settings page.
- Click a mobile phone number to view details of the message notification configuration.
- Click the status link to change the status (enabled/disabled) of the message notification configuration.
- Click the Modify icon
to enter the Modify Message Notification Configuration page.
- Click the Delete icon
to delete the message notification configuration.
- Click the Copy icon
for a SMS message notification rule to access the page for copying the SMS message notification rule. The default parameter values of the new rule are the same as the parameter values of the original rule. Modify the parameter values as needed.
- Click Refresh to refresh the Message Notification list.
- Click Export to save all message notification rules as an Excel file.
Precautions
- To add a message notification configuration, make sure that the SMSC is configured properly.
- To enable this function, connect a Wavecom GSM modem or a Wavecom CDMA modem (with SMS support) to the serial port of the server and insert a local GSM SIM card or a CMDB SIM card into the cell phone.
- Due to the restrictions of carriers, sending a number of messages to a SIM card in a short time might lead to messages loss or delay. You can configure the system to forward only the major traps of concerned devices.
- After the automatic forwarding recovery alarm is enabled, the recovery alarm will be automatically forwarded.
