Automatic Distribution
An automatic distribution rule allows The System to distribute the matching alarms to the specified processor of the ITSM, which then creates an alarm handling process to follow up the processing of the alarms.
In the automatic distribution rule list, you can:
- Modify the distribution queue length: Click Modify next to Distribution Queue Length, and then set the value for the maximum length of the distribution queue.
Because ITSM spends some time on creating the alarm handling process, The System may store a large number of alarms to be distributed. To improve The System performance, undistributed alarms are stored in a buffer queue called distribution queue. When the number of undistributed alarms exceeds the queue length, the subsequent alarms that match the automatic distribution rule cannot enter the queue. When the queue becomes available again, these alarms cannot enter the queue yet, whereas the new matching alarms can enter the queue.
