Trap to Alarm

This function allows you to define a generation rule based on:

The System escalates the traps that meet the rule to alarms automatically. The trap to alarm list displays the information of all the configured alarm generation rules, including rule name and rule description.

In Default Scenario mode, the trap escalation rules are enabled by default for the following events: network management, cold boot, warm boot, link up, link down, EGP neighbor loss, power supply failure, correct power supply, fan failure, and correct fan operation. In Reduced Scenario mode, the trap escalation rules are enabled by default for the following events: link up, link down, device polling status, SNMP access denial, MIB access error, power supply, and fan failure. All predefined rules in all scenarios are enabled. A user-defined rule is enabled by default in its defined scenario.

Operation Procedure

  1. Click the Modify link next to the Upgrade Strategy field to select an upgrade strategy.
  2. Click the Modify link next to the Trap-to-Alarm Rule Scenario field to configure a scenario. All trap-to-alarm rules in the selected scenario become enabled, and trap-to-alarm rules not in the scenario becomes disabled.
  3. Click the Alarm tab, and then select Trap to Alarm in the navigation tree. The Trap to Alarm page appears.
