RMON alarm group can monitor interface statistics. If the value of monitored statistics on a specific direction reaches the specified threshold, an alarm is generated. Typically, the device logs the event and sends it in traps to the network management station. Events are defined in RMON event management. An RMON alarm group consists of RMON alarm items, each of which is configured with a variable to be monitored, a sampling interval and related threshold parameters. With RMON alarm group management, you can add or delete an RMON alarm group and view invalid RMON alarm groups.
Field |
Description |
Stat Item |
The statistics item and port description comprise the MIB variable to be monitored. |
Port Desc |
Originated from the statistics group. The port description and statistics item comprise the MIB variable to be monitored. |
Sampling Type |
Two types of sampling are provided, namely, absolute sampling and delta sampling. |
Current Sampling Value |
Statistics collected within the last sampling interval. |
Startup Type |
Three alarm startup types are available, namely, allowing rising and falling alarms, allowing rising alarms and allowing falling alarms. |
Rising Threshold |
Threshold for rising alarms. If the sampled value reaches the value, a rising alarm is generated. |
Falling Threshold |
Threshold for falling alarms. If the sampled value reaches the value, a falling alarm is generated. |
Rising Event Index |
Index for a rising event. |
Falling Event Index |
Index for a falling event. |
Status |
Two statuses are available, namely, Active and Inactive. |
