Mesh Configuration Management

In traditional WLANs, APs are connected by cables, switches, routers, and power supplies. WLAN mesh networks allow for wireless connections between APs. Use mesh configuration management to manage MP policy, mesh profiles, mesh interfaces, and peer MAC address configurations.

An MP policy determines the establishment and maintenance of a mesh link. You can manage MP policy configurations of an access controller (AC) or fat AP, including browsing, adding, modifying, and deleting a policy. You can bind an MP policy to multiple radios in batches. After an MP policy is bound to the radios of an MP, the attributes in the MP policy trigger the establishment and maintenance of mesh links on the radios.

You can manage the mesh profile configuration of a specified AC or fat AP, including browsing, adding, modifying or deleting a mesh profile, and binding a mesh profile to multiple radios in batches. Binding a mesh profile to multiple MPs enables the MPs to provide mesh services to each other. To enable an MP to distribute mesh capabilities, you must bind it to a mesh profile.

You can manage mesh interface configurations of an AC or fat AP, including browsing, adding, and deleting a mesh interface, and modifying port security of a mesh interface and the VLAN to which it belongs. With mesh port security enabled, mesh network security can be enhanced to defend against common network attacks.

You can configure a peer MAC address for a radio of a specified AP, including adding and deleting a peer MAC address.
