Portal IP Address Group
Typically users are grouped based on their IP addresses in Portal access management . The user group feature allows for flexible user management at the group level.
An IP address group is an address segment that contains a series of IP addresses. Each IP address group represents a group of users of the same type. The IP address group makes it easier for the Portal Server to locate the access device serving a certain type of users. Depending on the network and the device configuration (NAT or IP address reallocation for example), the administrator can create different IP address groups for each access device, and then assign these groups to the port groups of the device.
Precautions
- The device supports multiple IP groups. If you select Disable for Bind Port Groups to IP Group, an IP group can be assigned to only one device. If you select Enable for Bind Port Groups to IP Group, an IP group can be assigned to multiple devices.
