Guest Parameters
You can modify the guest parameters for guest as needed.
Parameters
- Expired Guest Retention Time: Specifies the period of time to retain an expired guest account. Upon expiration of this timer, the system automatically cancels the guest account. The default value is 7. If you set the value to 0, the system cancels expired guest accounts at 00:01 on the next day.
- Retention Duration Of Pre Registered Visitors: after the account corresponding to the pre registered visitors expires, the retention duration in the system before the account is automatically logged off. After timeout, the account will be automatically logged off. The default value is 30. When it is set to 0, the expired pre registered visitors will be logged out at 00:01 the next day li>
- Use For Online: When automatically canceling an expired guest account that is online, the system takes one of the following actions based on the configuration of this option:
- If this option is not selected, the system does not cancel the account.
- If this option is selected, the system kicks out and then cancels the account.
- SMS Retrieval Interval: Minimum amount of time between two SMS messages that are sent to retrieve the password for a guest account created through the simplified guest registration page.
- SMS Reset Password: Enable or disable resetting the password through an SMS message. When Enable is selected, UAM sends a new password to a guest through an SMS message. When Disable is selected and the password is valid, UAM sends the original password to the guest. When Disable is selected while the password is expired, UAM still sends a new password to the guest.
- Guest Preregistration: Enable or disable the guest preregistration function.
- Allow Duplicate Phone Numbers: Allow or prohibit use of the same phone number by multiple guests during guest registration or preregistration.
- Associate with Existing Access Users: Select whether to enable guest preregistration with the username and identity number of an existing access user.
- Default user group for guests: Specifies the user group to which the following guests belong:
- Guests added by guest managers in the Self-Service Center.
- Pre-registered guests activated by guest managers in the Self-Service Center.
To add a selectable user group, navigate to the User > Access User > All Access Users page, and then click User Group above the access user list. Whether the password field on the guest pre-registration page is required depends on the setting of the Send Guest Password by parameter in the guest policy applied to the default user group for guests. The default guest policy applies if no guest policy is specified for the default user group for guests. The password field on the guest pre-registration page is optional if the Send Guest Password by parameter in the guest policy is configured. If this parameter is left empty, the password field on the guest pre-registration page is required.
- Password Strategy for Guest Preregistration: Strategy a guest to be preregistered must comply with when setting the password. An approved preregistered guest can change the password without the restriction of the password strategy.
- Scan QR Code to Approve Guests by Unspecified Administrator: Select Enable to allow an administrator that is not specified during guest preregistration to scan the QR code for approving guest registration. After the approval, the administrator becomes the specified administrator for the guest.
- All access users have guest manage privileges?Select Enable to allow non guest type access users in normal state to scan the QR code for approving guest registration. After the approval, the access user becomes the specified administrator for the guest and is added to the guest administrator list. To enable this feature, you need to configure the default guest administrator first.
- Backend Verification: This feature controls backend verification on the password acquisition status for endpoints. With this feature enabled, the backend verifies the countdown timer for password acquisition. It will not send the password acquisition request if the last countdown has not ended.
Guest Sign-In and Authentication Through SMS Messages
To use this function, make sure the following requirements are met:
- Guest preregistration is enabled in guest parameter settings.
- Guest auto-registration functions is enabled in guest policy settings.
- In SMS settings, a method is configured to obtain the SMS recipient number, either through Account Name or through Phone Number and Account Name. The correct sending method is configured.
- In user SMS notification settings, the content of the password notification is configured.
- The page for guest sign-in and authentication through SMS messages is configured as the portal login page. The configuration varies by the page pushing policy configured in port group settings. If the page pushing policy is not configured, the page for guest sign-in and authentication through SMS messages must be configured as the default authentication page. If a page pushing policy is configured, the page for guest sign-in and authentication through SMS messages must be added to a specific scenario in the page pushing policy configuration.
Guest Sign-In and Authentication Through QR Codes
This function applies to portal authentication and BYOD solutions.
To use this function for portal authentication, make sure the following requirements are met:
- Guest preregistration is enabled in guest parameter settings.
- The page for guest sign-in and authentication through QR codes is configured as the portal login page. The configuration varies by the page pushing policy configured in port group settings. If the page pushing policy is not configured, the page for guest sign-in and authentication through QR codes must be configured as the default authentication page. If a page pushing policy is configured, the page for guest sign-in and authentication through QR codes must be added to a specific scenario in the page pushing policy configuration.
To use this function in a BYOD solution, make sure the following requirements are met:
- The user self-service module and EIP module are deployed.
- Guest preregistration is enabled in guest parameter settings.
- The default guest manager and default guest service are configured.
- The page for guest sign-in and authentication through QR codes is configured as the BYOD page. In access service management, the page is configured as the default BYOD page or is added to a specific scenario.
