Export Assets

This function allows you to get a list of the assets to be exported through the query function, and then export all the assets in the asset list to files.
You can export basic information or detail information.
Basic information is exported in a .txt file and includes the asset number, asset group, owner, asset name, physical location, asset type, computer vendor, model, remarks, status, control scheme in use, control scheme in asset, user, operating system, login name, when the asset was added to INC, when INC started to manage the asset, when the latest change occurred, online time, offline time, and acknowledgement status.
Detail information is exported in a .zip file comprising multiple .html files. The .html files include the asset list page and asset details pages. The asset list page provides export information, export criteria, and hyperlinks to the assets. Each asset details page provides information about the system, operating system, BIOS, mainboard, memory, processors, NICs, hard disk drives, CD/DVD-ROM drivers, screen saver, IP addresses, IPv6 addresses, partitions, logical disks, software, and services.
Hardware information is exported to an .xls file and the file includes the asset number, asset name, and owner information by default. You can select other hardware information to be exported.

Operation Procedure

  1. Select the User tab, and in the navigation tree of Desktop Asset Manager, click All Assets to enter the Asset List page.
  2. Set simple query conditions, including asset number, asset owner; or set advanced query conditions, including asset number, asset name, and asset owner. Click Query to query the assets matching the conditions.
  3. Click Export.
  4. Select the export type. If you select Detail Information, the File Type and File Column Separator fields will not be displayed. If you select Basic Information, you can export asset information to a .txt file only and must select a column separator.If you select Hardware Information, you can export asset information to an .xls file only.
  5. Click OK to export asset information.
  6. When the export is complete, you can click Download to obtain the export file.
