Asset Management

This function helps manage desktop assets. In detail, it helps you in basic and advanced asset query, to add, modify, delete, scan, and batch import assets, move assets between groups, and to view asset details, change history, USB monitoring information, and software deploy tasks of an asset.

Precautions

• If EIA is not deployed or EIA of version 7.3(E0608) or earlier is deployed, the asset owner is not displayed in the asset information.
• When the Auto Number option is enabled, the Asset List page displays an ACK Status column instead of the Add and Import buttons, because the DAM server automatically generates an asset immediately after a client is successfully registered. When the Auto Number option is disabled, the Asset List page displays the Add and Import buttons instead of the ACK Status column.
• When the Auto Number option is enabled, the ACK Status of an automatically asset is No by default. To confirm an automatically generated asset, enter the page for modifying an asset, confirm the asset information, and click OK. Then the ACK status of the asset becomes Yes.
• If an online asset has registered, INC DAM can work with INC UAM to display which user is using the asset. The data is refreshed at the interval set by the asset policy request period. Therefore, if an asset is connected to the network by different users in a short period of time, the displayed asset user may be the last user rather than the one using the asset. The data gets synchronized after the asset policy request period expires. To set the asset policy request period, click Desktop Asset Manager > Service Parameters > Asset Policy Request Period.
• When you query assets by asset group or access the asset list of an asset group from the left navigation tree, the page displays assets only in the current asset group and does not display assets in the subgroups of the asset group.
• When sorting by group name, it will be sorted based on the complete path ID of the group, and the group name displayed on the page may not be sorted by characters.
