Deploy Device Configuration

With this function, you can select a configuration template and deploy it to multiple devices as the startup or running configuration. In addition, you can restore a historical configuration of a device from the backup history of the device.

To deploy the configuration of a device, perform the following four steps.

Precautions

• Deploying and restoring the runtime configuration of a device depend on the device's support for the configuration commands.
• When you deploy the configuration file or configuration segment for stack devices, you can specify only the running configuration.
• If the file transfer mode is set to SFTP and the commands in the configuration file need to be executed in config mode, add the command for entering the config mode in the configuration file.
• If the file transfer mode is set to TFTP or FTP, you do not need to add the command for entering the config mode in the configuration file.
