Select Configuration Files and Devices

This step is the first step of deploying device configuration. At this step, you can select configuration template, devices, and deploy strategies.

Operation Procedure

Enter the Deploy Device Configuration page with any of the following approaches:

Approach 1: Select the Service tab, click Deploy Guide , and then click Deploy Device Configuration .
Approach 2: In Configuration Templates, click the Deploy corresponding to a configuration template.
Approach 3: On the Configuration Management page, select the Backup Configuration History tab and click Restore.

Select a configuration template.
Click the Select Devices button. On the pop-up device list, select one or multiple devices.
Select Deploy to Device.
Select a deploy strategy according to the type of the configuration template.
Click Next.

When recovering device configuration, if replacing device configuration completely, please choose Startup Configuration and reboot devices afterwards, if updating or complementing device configuration immediately, please choose Running Configuration, but command which NMS does not contains will not be cleared.
When you deploy configurations to a stack device, you can deploy only the running configurations. When you restore configurations for an stack device, you can restore the startup configurations or running configurations.
When recovering device configuration,the file name on device is whether or not changed owing to different software version on device. If not changed, the file content will be changed.

If you selected a configuration file, you can deploy it as a startup configuration or a running configuration. If you selected a configuration segment , a CLI script or aTCL script , you can deploy it only as a running configuration.
