Display with fit content

To display a complete topology in the main pane, click on the toolbar, or right-click a blank area of the topology and then select Fit Content from the shortcut menu.

Use the Fit Content option to resize the topology to display all nodes. This operation does not change the location or layout of the topology and the most recent location of each node.

Save topology

Click on the toolbar to save your modifications to a topology, such as the changes in the display scale, background location or size, link/node label setting, node location, and lock status. You can select Save on Close in the advanced settings to ensure any changes to a topology are saved when you close the topology.

Rearrange layout

To rearrange the nodes of a topology, click on the toolbar. The nodes are arranged in the same way if you click the button multiple times.

Display in bird's-eye view

To enter or close the bird's eye view, click on the toolbar. By default, the bird's eye view is open.

Add background

To add background to a topology, click on the toolbar. Neighbor topologies do not support this operation.

Delete background

To delete the background of a topology, click on the toolbar. Neighbor topologies do not support this operation.

Display basic link information

Double-click a link in a topology, or right-click the link and then select Link Message from the shortcut menu. A dialog box appears, showing basic information and interface information for the link. The basic information includes the link name, link status, connection type, and nodes and interfaces at the two ends. The interface information includes the interface description, administrative status, operational status, maximum transmit unit (MTU), interface speed, interface alias, interface type, IP address, mask, physical address, time when the status of the interface was last changed, and the last refresh time.

Hand

When you are using the pointer cursor, click on the toolbar, or right-click a blank area of the topology and then select Hand from the shortcut menu, to use the hand cursor. When using the hand cursor, you can only view or drag the topology.

Pointer

When you are using the hand cursor, you can click on the toolbar, or right-click a blank area of the topology and then select Pointer from the shortcut menu, to change to the pointer cursor. When using the pointer cursor, you can perform all operations, including clicking a node/link, right-clicking a node/link, double-clicking a subnet/link, and dragging a node.

Display upper-layer subnet

When you are viewing a subnet, you can click on the toolbar to display the upper-layer network topology.

Find

Click on the toolbar of a topology, or right-click a blank area of the topology and then select Find from the shortcut menu. In the popup dialog box, type the IP address or label to find and locate a device or subnet. For the topology that does not have a left navigation tree, for example, embedded topology, the Find function can search and locate only the devices or subnets in the current view.

 Export into a Visio file

To export the current topology into a Visio file (.vdx), click the icon on the toolbar, and then in the popup Save dialog box, type the file name and click OK.
Note that:
The node status information cannot be exported.
Subviews, notes, and additional devices status cannot be exported.
The device IP addresses are exported into the Visio file as node labels. Custom icons cannot be exported.

Display in full screen

To display a topology in full screen, click on the toolbar. In full screen mode, the navigation tree and information area are hidden. To quit this mode, right-click a blank area of the topology and then select Exit Full Screen Display from the shortcut menu.
