Add/Modify MP Policy
Perform this task to add or modify an MP policy of an AC or fat AP.
Procedure
- Click the Service tab.
- From the WLAN Manager navigation tree, select Resource Management > ACs or Resource Management > Fat APs to open the device list page.
- Click a device label to open the Device Details page.
- In the Other Service Links area, click MP Policy Management to open the MP Policy List page.
- Click Add Policy to open the Add MP Policy page, or select Modify from the Operation menu of an MP policy to open the Modify MP Policy page.
- Enter the MP policy basic information.
- Click OK.
Parameters
- Enable Link Initiation: Link initiation status for an MP policy. Options are enabled and disabled.
- Link Maximum Number: Maximum mesh link number, in the range of 1 to 8. The default is 2.
- Link Rate Mode: Method used to calculate the cost of a mesh link. Options are fixed and real-time. The fixed method uses the maximum fixed rate of the current radio to calculate the cost of a mesh link. The real-time method uses the real-time RSSI to calculate the cost of a mesh link. The mode changes with the signal strength of a radio.
- Probe Request Interval (ms): Probe request interval in ms, in the range of 100 to 8191. The default is 1000 ms.
- Link Hold RSSI (dBm): Minimum signal strength to allow a mesh link to be formed and held. The value range is 5 to 100 dBm. The default is15 dBm.
- Link Hold Time (ms): Minimum time for keeping an active link up, in the range of 1000 to 20000 ms. The default is 4000 ms.
- Link Saturation RSSI: In the range of 30 to 150, in dBm. The default is150 dBm.
- Link Switch Margin (dBm) (supported on ACs only): If the RSSI of the new link is greater than that of the current active link by the link switch margin, active link switch occurs. The value range is 1 to 100 dBm. The default is 10 dBm.
- Enable Role Authenticator (supported on ACs only): Status of role authenticator. Options are enabled and disabled.
- Enable MLSP (supported on ACs only): Status of the MLSP protocol. Options are enabled and disabled. MLSP is used for switching between the active and inactive links in subway WLAN mesh deployment. When MLSP is disabled on a radio, the MLSP proxy MAC address configured for the MP policy is removed.
- MLSP Proxy MAC Address (supported on ACs only): MAC address of the device connected to the MLSP-enabled MP. You can configure 0 to 8 MLSP proxy MAC addresses.
Remarks
- You cannot directly modify an MP policy that has been bound to a radio. To modify the MP policy, you must first unbind the radio.
- To enable MLSP, enable link initiation.
