This function helps add, modify, and delete an asset group, assign the management rights over asset groups to operators, and organize the assets by manually add asset groups or user groups.
If EIA of a version later than 7.3(E0608) is deployed, the asset group modes include manually add asset groups (creating dedicated groups for asset management) and using user groups (using user groups to manage assets). You can switch between the two modes. By default, the system uses the manually add asset groups. When only an asset group named Ungrouped exists, you can switch the asset group mode to using user groups.
The asset group named Ungrouped is a special asset group automatically created by the system, and cannot be deleted.
When assets are organized by user groups, every asset is automatically added to the group that its owner belongs to. For assets that do not have an owner, they are added to ungrouped.
If EIA is not deployed or EIA of version 7.3(E0608) or earlier is deployed, the asset group modes only include manually add asset groups(creating dedicated groups for asset management).
