This scenario example uses two devices, with the following IP addresses: 10.153.89.135 and 10.153.89.136.
To restore software from these devices in future, you must update the software of the two devices whose IP addresses are 10.153.89.135 and 10.153.89.136, respectively, and set the current running software as the backup startup software. After that, you can restore the software from the devices.
Suppose that the current running software of the devices whose IP addresses are 10.153.89.135 and 10.153.89.136 are ar28-cmw340-r0109-icc.bin and ar46-vrp340-r0106.bin, respectively, and you want to update the device software to ar28-cmw340-r0209-icc.bin and ar46-vrp340-r0206.bin. The target software versions are available in the Software Library.
Suppose that the software path on the device whose IP address is 10.153.89.135 is flash:, and the software path on the device whose IP address is 10.153.89.136 is cf:.
There are later software versions in the software library, so the Update Version lists of the selected devices show the names of the later versions.
To update the software of the two devices, you can use the Deploy Device Software function.
