Restore Software from the System

Scenario Description

Suppose that the current running software of the device whose IP address is 10.153.89.137 is ar28-cmw340-r0209-icc.bin, and there have been different software versions deployed to the device previously. Now you want to restore the running software of this device to ar28-cmw340-r0109-icc.bin, which is previously deployed.

Suppose that you can restore the software version either from the the system or from the device, and the software path on the device is flash:.

To restore software from the the system, you can use the Restore Software from the system function.

Scenario Analysis

Restoring software from the the system applies only to a single device and a specified software version. You, however, can change the software path.

Operation Procedure

  1. On the Configuration Center page, click Configuration Management corresponding to the device whose IP address is 10.153.89.137.
  2. Select the Software Update History tab.
  3. In the Software Update History list, click Restore corresponding to the old version ar28-cmw340-r0109-icc.bin to go to the Deploy Device Software page.
  4. In the device list, click Modify on the Save to Device column. In the popup page, type flash: as the software path on the device, and click OK.
  5. In the Previous Version list, select Restore from the system.
  6. Select Delete Current Running Software as the deployment strategy.
  7. Click Next.
  8. View the check result and click Next.
  9. Type a task name.
  10. Select Immediately as the schedule time.
  11. Select Serial as the schedule sequence.
  12. Select Stop Deployment on the Current Device as the error handling mechanism.
  13. Type information in the Task Description text box.
  14. Click Next.
  15. On the Abstract page, click Finish.
