Restore Software from Device

Scenario Description

Suppose that the current running software of the device whose IP address is 10.153.89.137 is ar28-cmw340-r0209-icc.bin. Now you want to restore the running software of this device to ar28-cmw340-r0109-icc.bin, which was previously deployed.

Suppose that you can restore the software version either from the system or from the device, on which the software path is flash:.

To restore software from the device, you can use the Restore Software from Devices function.

Scenario Analysis

Restoring software from devices applies only to a single device and a specified software version. In addition, you cannot select or edit the software path.

Operation Procedure

  1. On the Configuration Center page, click Configuration Management for the device whose IP address is 10.153.89.137.
  2. Select the Software Update History tab.
  3. In the Software Update History list, click Restore corresponding to the old version ar28-cmw340-r0109-icc.bin to go to the Deploy Device Software page.
  4. In the Previous Version list, select Restore from Devices.
  5. Select Delete Current Running Software as the deploy strategy.
  6. Click Next.
  7. View the check result and click Next.
  8. Type a task name.
  9. Select Immediately as the schedule time.
  10. Select Serial as the schedule sequence.
  11. Select Stop Deployment on the Current Device as the error handling mechanism.
  12. Type information in the Task Description field.
  13. Click Next.
  14. On the Abstract page, click Finish.
