Alarm Details
The alarm details present the following information:
- Alarm name
- Alarm level
- OID
- Alarm Receiving time
- Alarm source
- Alarm type
- Alarm category
- Recovery status
- Recovered time
- Acknowledgment status
- Acknowledged time
- Description
- Alarm cause
- Remediation suggestion
- Maintenance experience
- Alarm parameters
The alarm cause, remediation suggestion, and maintenance experience parameters provide the possible causes and the remediation suggestions for the alarms of the same type, which helps troubleshooting. For an alarm raised by a lower-level The System, the left pane provides an Alarm Source on Lower-Level The System link for you to locate the source of the alarm on the lower-level The System.
Operation Procedure
- Click the Alarm tab, and then select Real-Time Alarms or All Alarms in the navigation tree to enter the corresponding page.
- Click a link in the Description column to enter the Alarm Details page.
- You can perform the following operations on the Alarm Details page:
- Click More Alarms to view all the alarms from the same alarm source.
- Click Recover to recover the alarms.
- Click Delete to delete the alarms and enter the All Alarms page.
- Click Acknowledge to acknowledge the alarms.
- Click Filter the Alarm to enter the Add Filtering Rule page. The system automatically sets the filtering criteria according to the current trap type and source.
- Click Modify Severity to enter the page for modifying trap level.
- Click Edit Maintenance Experience on the right pane to edit the maintenance experience.
- Click Alarm Source on Lower-Level The System to locate the source of the alarm on the lower-level The System. This link is available for the alarms reported from the lower-level The System only.
- Click Alarm Reason and Incidence Analysis Report to display the root cause of the alarm and incidence analysis report.
- Click Previous to enter the details page of an alarm which matches the current query criteria and is generated earlier than the current alarm.
- Click Next to enter the details page of an alarm which matches the current query criteria and is generated later than the current alarm.
Precautions
- The Related Traps area lists the traps related to the alarm. The system displays the relation between traps and the alarm for duplicated traps and intermittent traps only.
- The System cannot change the alarm content generated by unmanaged devices.
- When the repeat count of traps is different from that of alarms, possible reasons are:
- The corresponding traps have been deleted.
- The corresponding traps have been dumped.
Parameters
- Alarm Source: The device name and device IP in gray indicate that the alarm is generated by The System server or an unmanaged device. The device name and device IP in blue indicate that the alarm is generated by a managed device.
