Data Center Topology
The data center topology uses various elements, including data centers, equipment rooms, clouds, and links to vividly demonstrate the topology for a specific network range. The data center topology helps the administrator better understand the network layout and make proper global plans and management decisions.
In the data center topology, a data center can contain multiple layers and equipment rooms. Equipment rooms can reside in or be separate from data centers. Clouds show the external networks to which data centers and equipment rooms connect. You can create various types of links, such as fiber, ADSL, WAN, and LAN links among data centers, equipment rooms, and clouds. You can identify different links by name, color, dotted line, and solid line.
Operation Procedure
- Click the Resource tab.
- Select View Management > Network Topology in the navigation tree.
- Double-click Data Center Topology in the topology navigation tree to enter the data center topology page.
Functions
- Add a data center: Right-click a blank area in the topology and then select Add Data Center from the shortcut menu. Type the data center name, select the layers that the data center contains, and click OK.
- Add an equipment room: Right-click a blank area in the topology or a layer of a specific data center, and then select Add Room from the shortcut menu. Type the name of the equipment room and click OK.
- Add a cloud: Right-click a blank area in the topology and select Add Cloud from the shortcut menu. Type the cloud name and click OK.
- Add a link: Select any two objects (including data centers, equipment rooms, and clouds) in the topology, right-click them, and select Add Link from the shortcut menu. Set the link properties and click OK.
