- The VLAN ID of a Cisco device ranges from 2 to 1001 and 1006 to 4094.
- A VLAN name is a string of 32 characters at most, which allows only letters, numbers, and spaces, and must start with a letter.
- On HPE devices, a VLAN name cannot contain spaces or tildes (~), and it cannot be an integer in the range of 1 to 4094.
- Cisco devices do not support VLAN names that contain spaces.
- VLAN 1 is the default VLAN and cannot be deleted.
- For Cisco devices, VLANs 1, 1002, 1003, 1004, 1005 are default VLANs and cannot be deleted.
- You can change dynamic VLANs that are dynamically learned by GVRP to static VLANs. Only dynamic VLANs support the function.
- Only HPE switches support the Change to Static function.
