Neighbor Topology
A neighbor topology is a special Layer 2 topology that includes a single device and its neighbors within the specified hops. It displays the network structure and status information of a given device, such as physical connections, link status, and device status.
Operation Procedure
- Right-click a device in an IP topology, a Layer 2 topology, or a custom topology, and then select Neighbor Topology from the shortcut menu.
- Set Neighbor Hops and click OK to enter the neighbor topology of the device.
Precautions
- Neighbor topologies are static. They do not support real-time refreshing, saving, and other advanced functions. The Save on Close setting in the advanced settings is ineffective for neighbor topologies.
- To refresh the current neighbor topology, click
on the toolbar of the topology.
- The unknown edge devices are not displayed in the neighbor topologies.
Parameters
- Neighbor Hops: Specifies the maximum displayed hops around the central device of a neighbor topology. This value limits the range of a neighbor topology.
