View Signal Cover Area
Perform this task to view the signal coverage area.
Procedure
- Open the topology of a location view.
- Add a background to the location view.
- Right-click on the blank space of the topology, and then select Set Scale from the shortcut menu.
- Draw a line between two points on the background, enter the real distance of the two points, and then click OK to set the scale.
- Click the Obstacle icon
in the toolbar of the topology.
- Specify the shape, type, and thickness, and then click OK to add an obstacle.
- Click the Select icon
in the
toolbar of the topology.
- Select Cut Off Signal in
the toolbar of the topology.
- Right-click on the blank space of the topology, and then select Show Signal Cover Area from the shortcut menu to view the signal
coverage area.
- Click the Refresh icon
to
refresh the signal coverage area.
Remarks
- The Set Scale menu option is available only when the background is set.
- The menu options Add Obstacle and Show Signal Cover Area are available only when the
background and scale are set.
- The obstacle type can be customized in
the file \client\conf\wlan\wlan-obstacle-define-en.xml in the INC installation path.
Restart the jserver for the modification to take effect.
- The obstacle is displayed as 20 pixels if the thickness exceeds 20 pixels. However, the actual thickness is used for absorption calculation.
