Add/Modify Location
Perform this task to add or modify a location
view or sub-location view.
Add/Modify Location View
- Click the Service tab.
- From the WLAN Manager navigation tree, select View Management > Location Views to open the Location View page.
- Click Add in the Location List to open the Add Location page or click the Modify icon
in Location List to open the Modify Location page.
- On the Add Location or Modify Location page, enter the name of the location
view and select the location type.
- Click OK.
Add/Modify Sub-location View
- Click the Service tab.
- From the WLAN Manager navigation tree, select View Management > Location Views to open the Location View page.
- Click a location name on the location list, click a sub-location view, and so forth, until you locate the sub-location view on the Sub-location/Device List page.
- On the Sub-location/Device List page, click Add Sub-location in Sub-location/Device List to open the Add Location page. Or select
Modify from the Operation menu for the target sub-location to open the Modify Location page.
- On the Add Location or Modify Location page, enter the name of the
location view you want to add or modify.
- Select a location type and specify whether or not the location is a hotspot.
- If you select the location as a hotspot, set the hotspot extended
properties.
- Select the Automatically Match Virtual AP option as needed. If this option is selected, APs that have the same name as the virtual AP will be automatically added to the location view and replace the virtual AP in the topology.
- Select the Set to Locating AP option as needed. If this option is selected, APs in the location view will act as locating APs to perform wireless location.
- Select the Automatically Add AP option as needed. If this option is selected, you must configure an AP match rule. The APs that match the rule will be automatically added to the location view.
- Click OK.
Remarks
- WSM provides the following location types: area, building, floor, and room. The area type is the default type for location views. Any type of
the sub-location view can be added for an area location view. Only floor and room
sub-location views can be added for a building location view. Only room
sub-location views can be added for a floor location view. No sub-location
views can be added for a room location view.
- No sub-location views can be added to locations that are set to
a hotspot.
- Only locations with no sub-locations can be set to
hotspot.
- A location view, like a Windows folder, can include sub-location views of unlimited levels.
